We partner with neighbor farmers in the
Greenbrier Valley, farmers like the Walkups, who have
been farming along the Greenbrier River for over 200
years. John J. Walkup III breeds Angus to be raised on
grass, and together we select the calves that go into
our local marketing program. When the calve is ready
to wean from its mother, it comes to our farm to finish
on our grass pastures.
This kind of partnership offers cattle farmers a
better option than having their cattle sent to industrial
feed lots, reduces transportation energy costs and
provides our community with an excellent source of
high quality protein.
